Wellhead Protection
NYRWA assists rural communities and small water systems in the design and implementation of wellhead protection plans. This technical assistance includes mapping of critical recharge areas for public wells and springs, identification and evaluation of potential contamination threats, design and implementation of water supply protection strategies, and planning for future drinking water supply issues (including water system emergency plans and identification of alternative water supply sources).
