DEC's Request for Information from facilities within the Mohawk Watershed

Those of you in the Mohawk Watershed received a Request for Information from DEC back in July. Please note this information is due by October 9, 2018. If you have any questions or are having difficulties filling out the forms please contact your DEC inspector immediately. They can assist you, answer your questions and help you file for an extension if you need one.

Time to Apply: USDA Announces $5 Billion in Funding for Rural Water/Wastewater Improvements

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Rural Utilities Service has announced that more than $4 billion in Direct Loan funds and $1 billion in grant funding is available for rural water and wastewater system improvements — marking a nearly threefold increase in the normal annual obligation.

July 27th Deadline to Apply for Source Water Protection Land Acquisition Funding

Friday, July 27 is the deadline to apply for funding to purchase conservation easements or parcels of land to protect one or more active public surface water drinking water supplies or one or more active public groundwater drinking water wells.  This funding is through the Water Quality Improvement Project (WQIP) program, a competitive, statewide reimbursement grant program open to local governments and not-for-profit corporations.  For source water protection land acquisition, this grant program requires
