NYRWA Celebrates Steve Grimm and Steve Freeman

It seems impossible, but longtime fixtures here at NYRWA, Steve Grimm and Steve Freeman, will both be retiring in July after long and storied careers with the association.

Steve Grimm joined our team in December 2000, as our Wastewater Technician/Trainer. For the next 25 ½ years, Steve’s dedication and commitment to the wastewater operations specialists and systems across NYS was without question, and his passion shined through as he traveled the state assisting communities with everything from smoke testing to NY Alert compliance. Steve has been a true professional and friend, and he will be greatly missed here at NYRWA. We look forward to the next chapter for Steve knowing he will carry his experience, expertise, and passion with him to provide the highest quality service possible.

Steve Freeman joined the NYRWA Board of Directors in June 1995 and served in every capacity on our Board of Directors until his retirement in August 2020. Steve served as the Lead Water Operator for the Boonville Municipal Commission for 30 years, and on our Board of Directors for 25 years of that time. In September 2020, Steve joined our team as a Circuit Rider serving central and western NY. Steve has proudly served our members for the past 6 years and has quickly proven his ability and dedication to our membership. We are sad to see Steve retire, but we also applaud his magnificent career and look forward to seeing Steve enjoy his retirement. Who knows…maybe we can get him back on a part-time basis???

The End of an Era! Steve Grimm and Steve Freeman have not only been dedicated and committed to our members, but they helped shape the growth and course of this Association. Their input, efforts, and ideas have helped make this Association strong, continuing to grow each and every year, and we thank both gentlemen for showing us how to provide…Quality on Tap!
