PROBLEMS ACCESSING DOCUMENTS FOR THE DEC ASSET MANAGEMENT PILOT PROGRAM?
It has been brought to our attention that some people are having difficulties accessing the treatment plant score and collection system surveys required for the Asset Management Pilot Program application. If you are using Google Chrome as your browser try downloading Firefox and follow these instructions:
1. Open Firefox and go to the DEC Asset Management Pilot Program website
2. Click on either survey link

New York State Water and Wastewater Grants

The NYS Environmental Facilities Corporation (EFC) and the NYS Department of Health (DOH) are pleased to announce a webinar on Thursday, July 16th at 10 AM to discuss $50 million in available grant funding to local governments this year for critical drinking water and wastewater infrastructure projects through Governor Cuomo’s NYS Water Grants Program.

Water Infrastructure Grants are Available

The NYS Environmental Facilities Corporation (EFC) and the NYS Department of Health (DOH) announced that $50 million in water infrastructure grants are now available to local governments for critical water and wastewater infrastructure upgrades. The $50 million in funding is part of $200 million in grants expected through the New York State Water Infrastructure Improvement Act (WIIA) over the next three state fiscal years to fund municipal wastewater and drinking water infrastructure projects that improve water quality and protect public health.

Gov Cuomo Announces $1.8 Million in Federal Public Assistance Approved for Village of Saranac Lake

Gov. Cuomo announced the approval of $1.8 million from the Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), to help the Village of Saranac Lake rebuild their municipal sewage treatment plant and better protect it from future damage.  “This vital funding will allow the Village of Saranac Lake, which has seen firsthand the damage that can be caused by extreme weather, to strengthen its infrastructure and build back better than before.”  Gov. Cuomo said.

Fallsburg gets $10M Loan for WWTP

A $10.8 million no-interest loan was awarded to the eastern Sullivan County Town of Fallsburg last week so it can upgrade a wastewater treatment plant.

The state Environmental Facilities Corporation’s board of directors announced the money will go toward improvements at the Loch Sheldrake Wastewater Treatment Plant, which was built in 1938 and last renovated in 1980. Upgrades will include a membrane bioreactor for secondary treatment at the plant and an ultraviolet light system for disinfection.

Gov. Cuomo Launches 4th Round of Regional Economic Development Council

Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today launched Round IV of the Regional Economic Development Council (REDC) initiative, officially kicking off the 2014 competition for up to $750 million in state economic development resources. The Consolidated Funding Application (CFA) will open to applicants on May 1, enabling businesses, municipalities, not-for-profits and the public to begin applying for assistance from dozens of state funding programs, through a single application, for job-creating and community development projects.
