Flooding hits western Steuben County

  • 21 September 2021

On August 19th a portion of tropical storm Fred dumped several inches of rain on the towns of Woodhull, Troupsburg, Jasper, Greenwood, West Union, Canisteo and the Village of Addison.  A state of emergency was declared in those towns.

The hamlet of Woodhull suffered the most damage. Roads, homes and business were severely damaged.  Their DPW garage and newly built wastewater plant had several feet of water.  The Jasper-Troupsburg school was flooded and most likely unusable the entire school year!  The rest of townships had major damage to town, county and state roads.
