Drinking Water Technical Advisor

Job Description with NY Rural Water Association

This is a full time position (40 hours per week/2080 hrs year) with a competitive salary, benefits and flexible schedule.  Applicant must have 5 years experience operating, maintaining, or managing a water system; the ability to communicate effectively with operators, decision makers, and regulatory agencies; and the ability to identify, locate, troubleshoot and explain problems to water system personnel and decision makers. 

This position requires extensive travel primarily in rural New York.  Applicant should be certified by the NYS Department of Health. 

Must be able to use Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and be able to use the internet for research purposes.  Must be very organized, excellent at meeting deadlines, submitting paperwork and have a valid driver’s license.

This position consists of planning and facilitating one day training events across the state; providing on-site technical assistance to small/rural water systems including municipalities, mobile home parks, homeowner associations, etc.  All staff are required to submit written articles of interest to our industry and participate in all Association events.  You will work from your home base and report to our Claverack office.
